The Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) is a professional education institution with a significant presence in Baja California, primarily centered in the municipalities of Mexicali, Tijuana, Ensenada, Tecate, and San Quintín.
The UABC Institute of Engineering was founded in 1981 with the mission of conducting research in various engineering fields, focused on providing solutions to regional issues, thereby contributing to the state's development and society’s welfare.
Since its inception, the Institute has been strengthened by capable and committed academic and administrative staff aligned with UABC’s mission and values. The Institute currently has three research areas: Environment, Physical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering, promoting partnerships with public and private sectors under the framework of university social responsibility.
In addition to its highly regarded faculty known for their research and teaching efforts, the Institute is equipped with specialized infrastructure and equipment for high-impact research projects and offers an education process based on the highest quality standards.
